Sonny’s teaching experience comes through very clearly. A discussion
rather than a presentation, suitable for every level, and this group
covered every level. The best thing to say is that we all left with
much better understanding of what DoF is, and how to achieve this in
one’s photos, and what draws the viewer into the scene. What is the
subject, most important aspect, and how to draw the viewer to the
subject. Well done. Left with a much better understanding of the
subject, and how to put it into practice. 5/5
This was an excellent class and I will be signing up for more classes.
Sonny is the best! I went in pot this class as a rookie with very little
knowledge and thought I would be way over my head for the instruction.
Sonny made the entire session beneficial to me while still engaging
those who were far more advanced. I came away with significantly more
knowledge and photography awareness than when I first walked into the
session. Many thanks for you pr patience, enthusiasm, and encouragement. 5/5

I had a great experience. Learned a lot from the instructor and had a
fun time learning new skills. The best part of this experience is I came
to learn one skill and left with a deeper understanding of multiple
skills. It got me out my comfort zone. Well worth the time. 5 out of 5.
Five star review. Great ideas and creative thoughts concerning the art
of photography. I loved walking around and catching spontaneous moments.
Great teacher qualities.
Sonny was an extremely knowledgeable instructor. I appreciate the way
that he began the class by asking the participants what WE wanted to
gain from the session, and then geared the class towards our goals. He
was open to questions and ensured that we understood his responses.
(…and he showed no outward remorse as I continued to fire questions at
him 😉). I will complete my “homework” by taking hundreds of photos
and applying what I learned. Once I become more comfortable using
“manual mode”, I’ll look into future classes taught by him.
I
just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the nightlife photography
workshop in Charleston. Walking through the city streets at night with
the group was such a great experience, it really helped me see things
differently and try new techniques in a relaxed, inspiring environment.
Sonny was fantastic. He was helpful, kind, and gave us space to express
our own ideas about nighttime photography, which I really appreciated. I
felt supported but also free to explore creatively.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I? d definitely be interested in
joining more workshops in the future. Thanks again for putting it
together! 5/5
Sonny has an amazing talent at evaluating his groups needs and
wants. Sonny then ensuring that the practical class portion covers those
topics effectively and spends one-on-one time with each participant as
needed. Balancing advanced and introductory concepts and terminology so
no one feels ignored. Very impressive! 5/5
It was great. Sonny really builds confidence in those who lack it by
teaching and encouragement. I take these to step out of my normal and
comfort zones and I leave with new knowledge.
Sonny
is extremely knowledgeable and is a good teacher. His syllabus is very
comprehensive and his willingness to help (answer questions) after the
course is great. 5/5
Handbook provided before workshop was very helpful! David asked each of us what we were looking to get out of the class and answered all of our questions,. He shared real life experience with us, which was great. I learned a lot!
Suggestions: Offer a workshop on lightening and use of flash photography.
Sonny was great. Really explained how everything will go and was super engaged and encouraging. Absolutely will sign up for another class. Left with lots of confidence in photographing Street photography on my own. I enjoyed the group a lot!
Truly enjoyed and learned so very much from Sonny. I look forward to taking another class with him in the future!

Instructor good. My humble thoughts: written? curriculum? emphasized Saul Lighter technique. Like exposing Picasso paintings to a freshman level art class. Luckily not much on Lighter. No discussion on focus field but ok because modern cameras don’t need shooters to fiddle much with manual focus dials. I learned i would much rather shoot street window reflections than water or puddles. If i were teaching this I would find two good YouTube videos on street photog and send signees the links prior to meeting. Spend more time on the street. Good street photography takes a little time. I would move away from the market area to less tourist travelled area. They all look alike. No variety in? people diversity.? Saul Lighter a fabulous street guy but Vivian Meyer and William Shackleton worth looking at. Lighter is Piccaso, the others are like Dutch Masters. . . Easier to understand and replicate

Sonny Green was an excellent instructor and guide. I really appreciated his facilitation techniques and ability to open my naturalist eye to new concepts in street photography. He was open to meeting the needs of the entire group and ensured every workshop member had a platform. 5/5
Charleston has so much beauty, but Sonny knows how to find its soul. Highly recommend booking him if you want more than just snapshots—you’ll leave with art.
